The different line and member agencies of the Autonomous Region in Musllim Mindanao Humanitarian Emergecy Action and Response Team (ARMM-HEART), including the DILG-ARMM as in-charge and the Vice-Chairman in disaster preparedness, was closely monitored the mobilization of the tropical storm, commonly known as “Bagyong Basyang”, on 12 February 2018 at the ARMM HEART Operation Center, ORG Compound, Cotabato City.


Preparations were organized and discussed, such as: (a) addressing the possible landing of the storm in ARMM which would cause landslide and flood; and, (b) delineation of roles and responsibilities of the different line agencies in case it would pass in the provinces of ARMM.

Different state of the art technology and software from reliable sources were used to oversee the movement of the storm.

“We need to be in the Operation Center to closely monitor and relay the message to the ground for possible landfall of the storm in ARMM,” said Director Ramil Masukat of ARMM HEART.

Provincial Planning Workshop on Mainstreaming CCA-DRR in Local Development Planning

A Workshop entitled “Provincial Planning Workshop on Mainstreaming Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in Local Development Planning for LGUs in Maguindanao” will be attended by the DILG-ARMM personnel on August 3, 2016 at Sardonyx Plaza Restaurant, Cotabato City.

LGU PFM Reform thru the Convergence of the Regional Inter-Agency Teams

The DILG-ARMM attended the formal closing of the Support to the Local Government Units for More Effective and Accountable Public Financial Management (LGU PFM 2) Project funded by the European Union. The LGU PFM 2 Project Closing Event, with the theme “Moving the LGU PFM Reform thru the Convergence of the Regional Inter-Agency Teams (RIATs)” was held on 28 June 2016, 8:30 A.M. at the New World Manila Bay Hotel, 1588 Pedro Gil corner M.H. Del Pilar Streets, Manila.

Present during the activity were the DILG-ARMM Regional Secretary Atty. Anwar A. Malang, Roselynne M. Cuevas, LGOO V, Ferdaussi T. Abdullah, LGOO II, and the DILG representatives nationwide.

The aim of the event was to grace the RIATs’ event thru Audio-Visual Presentation on the Project Accomplishments and Audio-Visual Presentation on the LGU PFM Reform: The Road to Convergence.


Participation to the “Revitalizing Technical Report Writing Skills: A Proficiency Enhancement for LGOOs IV and V”

The DILG-ARMM, thru Hja. Helen P. Ahmad and Johaina J. Abdullah, both LGOO V, will attend the continuing training program on Revitalizing Technical Report Writing Skills: Proficiency Enhancement for LGOOs IV and V on June 11-15, 2016 at Lancaster Hotel, Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong City.

The aim of the activity is based on the Local Government Academy’s (LGA) augmenting the efforts of the Department towards Strengthened Internal Organizational Capacity.

Workshop on the PCF Operations Manual

The DILG-ARMM, thru its PCF Regional Focal Person Roselynne M. Cuevas, LGOO V, will participate on the incoming 3-day Workshop on the “Development of Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) Operational Manual” on June 14-16, 2016 at the Subic Bay Traveler’s Hotel and Event Center, Subic, Zambales. This is a region-wide activity to be conducted by the DILG-Central Office Manila, thru the Bureau of Local Government (BLGD).

This 3-day workshop aims to provide an avenue among PCF stakeholders to develop an Operations Manual which contains a more detailed guide on the implementation of PCF. The workshop will be participated in by the 18 Regional PCF Focal Persons including other participants from the different Bureaus in the Central Office..

PPCD Workshop

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) presents its compliments to the Department of the Interior and Local Government-ARMM.

The DILG-ARMM thru its Regional Information Officer will participate in the Participatory Planning and Capacity Development (PPCD) Workshop for the Cotabato City Roadshow, as part of the IOM X Campaign. The workshop will be on 1-2 June 2016 in Pagana Kutawato, Cotabato City.

IOM X is a regional project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and is implemented under the auspices of the regional office in Bangkok. IOM X is IOM’s innovative campaign to encourage safe migration and public action to stop human trafficking.

The Cotabato Roadshow will consist of a series of activities to create community-driven media materials and design and implement outreach activities. This workshop is the first of the Roadshow activities and it will bring together participants from the government, civil society and the private sector to determine the focus of the materials that will be developed and distributed, based on local trafficking trends and using a Communication for Development/Behaviour Change Communication approach.
