The DILG-ARMM conducted the “Orientation and Awarding of the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF)” to Local Government Units (LGUs) of Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) on 20 February 2018 held at Pavilion Hall, Pagana Native Restaurant, Cotabato City.
The activity were attended by the DILG-ARMM Regional Secretary, Atty. Noor Hafizullah “Kirby” M. Abdullah, Director II of Technical Services, Dir. Lininding M. Lao, the Chief of LGMED, Ms. Fausiah R. Abdula, technical staff, local chief executives, DILG field officers and LGU functionaries. Present also in the said activity were DILG-ARMM Auditor Ismael Midsalipag and DILG-Maguindanao Provincial Director.
PCF is an incentive fund to LGUs as financial subsidy for Local Development Projects which were indicated (a) in the Annual Investment Program (AIP) or Local Development Investment Program (LDIP) of LGUs and (b) consistent with national goals and priorities.
The program is also aimed to: (a) to recognize good governance performance particularly in the areas of transparency and accountability; and, (b) to encourage convergence of local development projects with national government’s priority programs.
LGMED Chief Abdula emphasized during the orientation that the PCF project by the eligible LGU must be one whole project and must be implementable within one (1) year upon receipt of Notice of Implement by the DILG- Regional office.
“We are number two (2) in the entire Mindanao which is an implication of ARMM’s developmental milestone in terms of performance where ARMM is higher than other regions,” Dir. Lininding M. Lao said.
“I hope with the hardworking Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs), we will achieve our next goal that ARMM will be number one (1) in Mindanao, do not stop inspiring, and take it as a challenge,” Atty. Noor Hafizullah “Kirby” M. Abdullah stressed as he delivered his message during the said activity.
